Essential beliefs unite us and Ignite distinctives guide how we worship together
Essential beliefs
We believe in one God, eternally existing, who is loving, holy and wise. He exists in the three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin and He is the promised Messiah.
Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried, and his physical body raised from the dead. He is alive today.
After the fall, Jesus offers salvation that we can receive by faith and through grace. It is a gift of God.
The Bible is the trustworthy, inspired word of God that guides life and faith
Ignite Distinctives
-
We believe Holiness is God’s standard for His people. He calls us to connect with Him, abide in Him and follow him as his disciples. Jesus also calls us to live in relationship with each other, meeting together for the purpose of encouraging each other in love and good deeds, corporately and in small groups. As we abide in and follow Christ together, God grows us by his Spirit in maturity and Christ-likeness, and he helps us to flourish in bearing the fruit of the Spirit. We practice the disciplines of hearing, studying, treasuring and obeying God’s Word. We also believe that following Christ includes being baptised, prayer, repentance, confession and sharing our lives with one another.
-
The Church is a community of believers, empowered to share God’s love and truth with each other and the world. The Church is something we ARE, not a building where we meet. God creates us and the Holy Spirit empowers us so that when we work in unity, for His Kingdom, we fit perfectly like pieces to a puzzle. Our gifts encourage and strengthen His Church and require love, maturity and order.

Excellence is a core value at Ignite. Anything we do as a church is worth doing well because we represent Christ and the demonstration of His love for the people He created in His image.
